Code of Conduct
- It's about respect, empathy and risk-management

Before you take part in AcroYoga, please get familiar with our community guidelines.  We teachers and community members take steps to promote safety, respect and empathy through the acro code of conduct. Taken from international guidelines on what behaviour is acceptable or unacceptable at jams and community events to keep members safe and having fun with the practice.

Acro Class Etiquitte

Don't want someone's stinky feet on your body?
That's fair. Neither does your neighbour.

We can all take five simple steps to ensure we are hygienically clean and considerate at our Acro class.

Network of Care
- A community initiative

In 2024, leaders from the Toronto Acro community got together to start a local Network of Care service. Modelled of the foundational structure, which began in Montreal in 2019, the idea was soon adopted by acro communities across the globe, and is helping to boost accountability and safety at Acro jams and events. This volunteer-led initiative is ongoing and adapting to community needs.

Big Sunday Acro Jams
- Our success story

In 2024, we set out to uplift the Toronto Acro community. Recognizing a demand for foundation-level classes and spotting awareness across the city jams, after COVID-19 lockdowns left a vacuum of experienced teachers and community leaders who moved to sunnier shores.

Our Big Sunday Acro Jam series brought together communities from different areas across GTA to create a safe and inclusive jam space, with beginner-friendly classes and acro games competitions. The program was a huge success and resulted in over180 attendees, coming from more than 7 regional locations including Kitchner-Waterloo, Barrie and Woodstock. More consistent use of spotters and consent language is helping to bring the existing community together and enhance the experience of new members.
